I am freshly back from Service Design in Government conference in Edinbourgh, an event for anyone involved in designing and implementing #public#services. During two days I was happy to share with practitioners from European countries and learn from their experiences of improvements in #health services in NL and the UK, #transportation in the city of Barcelona, building smart networks of support for city councils in Finland. Ready to work with us to transfer some ideas to #Luxembourg? 🙂
What are our two biggest learnings?
* the words that I heard in many talks were: #community #relationship #interdependence. Especially when it comes to overcharged health services (ageing population, decreasing public spending, staff leaving..) we start to rely more on community assets and resources, neighbourhoods, associations that network with each other. Tribes of nurses, Care B&B, digital services to support relationships with patients outside of hospitals…
* public services go #agile! nurses become product owners, whole teams get responsibility for problem solving and are assisted by coaches, green fields for experimentation are created in town halls and hospitals to iterate on projects. It’s time to invest in new set of skills! Are we ready? #servicedesign#designthinking
